Ethnic Style
Lovers of exotic trips have a good opportunity to also enjoy landscapes and hidden places unknown, fill your home and characteristic unusual objects brought from the countries they visit. The decoration based on this type of decorative elements is often called ethnic style and are mainly based on materials and parts originating in the African art and Asian culture.
If we want to impregnate a stay of ethnic style, we should start using natural wood-based furniture such as teak, wicker or bamboo. Untreated finishes are usually a good choice in these cases and it is desirable that the dye colors are brown and rather dark.
Undoubtedly, one of the key elements is the upholstery, ethnic fabrics provide the place a unique character. It is imperative at this point to use natural fabrics and natural fibers such as linen, cotton, rattan and hemp. A rug on the floor, some tapestries for the sofa, some cushions, blinds and exotic wall to win in comfort, are essential allies. The textile finishes that mimic the skin of animals (tiger, leopard, zebra …) can provide an edge.
The role for rooms decorated with an ethnic style is clearly for decorative objects. It figures from India, African motifs, with carved wooden items, candles, ceramics … anything that evokes the fusion, hybridization, and the tribal. Some examples of successfully achieving this style masks are carved from Namibia or traditional wrought iron lamps in the Maghreb, but also highlight the embroidered tapestries or even the Egyptian papyri.
Fortunately, today, getting as many multiracial elements without needing to travel to the countries of origin is possible. The key essence for good ethnic decoration is to find the eccentric and exotic, though it must be cautious because it is easy to overdo.
Another possibility is to combine some ethnic pieces with a more contemporary and modern decor. To achieve this effect we need a simple way to decorate the room and give it a more original tribesmen including some well-selected.
